Kiran & Eric. Edmonton Fusion Wedding.

Edmonton Fusion Wedding.

We were so grateful to have been a part of Kiran & Eric’s incredible Edmonton Fusion wedding. Although Kiran is originally from Edmonton these two, along with many of their guests, traveled from the states to be wed here. We were treated to four days full of traditional pre-wedding events. Two ceremonies (one Sikh, one Christian ceremony). Plus, an amazingly fun party to celebrate this incredible couple!

Their Love Story

Eric shared a little about the wedding and their love story: “Kiran and I have quite an interesting story. She is from Edmonton, Alberta, and I am from Detroit, Michigan. We grew up in two different countries and cultures, we met in New Zealand in 2007. We have both lived in Arizona for the past five to six years. As a result of all of this cobbled background story, we had a relatively complicated wedding in a relatively obscure location, with a geographically diverse guest list.

My favorite part was seeing so many important people from our pasts in the same place at the same time – it will certainly never happen again. Sure, some of Kiran’s friends and family lived right down the street from our wedding events, but many did not! People from all over Canada, America, and even India traveled many miles to be with us during our celebration, and it meant a lot. Several people who would never have known one another were brought together because of our wedding. It was very surreal to watch. Kiran and I are happy to have found each other, but we also know that we have been surrounded by amazing people for our entire lives, and we were so happy to celebrate with them.”

The Bride’s favourite moments

Kiran shared some of her favourite moments with me: “There were so many amazing things about our wedding. It’s hard to pick just a few moments that were my favourite. Besides the obvious of being able to marry Eric (not once but twice) surrounded by our family and friends from all over the world. I think my favorite moments were watching our family and friends embrace our very different cultures.

For Eric and his family (and many of our guests), they had never been to an Indian wedding before. In preparation for the wedding, we watched my cousin’s wedding video, but obviously the real deal was very different. On the other side, my parents had never participated in a Christian ceremony. Both of our families did a wonderful job handling the responsibilities that came with two wedding ceremonies. Plus, many other pre-wedding events. I am so happy with how everything turned out. I feel so honored that so many wonderful people joined in our four-day celebration. “

“Lauren was the perfect person for our Edmonton wedding. We had a rather complicated agenda, with events over the course of four days. Lauren was flexible enough to make it to all of the events where we needed her. She was excellent at communicating throughout the entire process, and she gave us thousands (actually, thousands) of great photos that we will have forever. She and her partner had all of the angles covered, from the pre-wedding stuff to the dance floor. All of it was reasonably priced, given some of the other wedding photographers that charge massive prices. Would definitely recommend to anyone, especially in the Edmonton area!” -Eric & Kiran
