Still glowing from Emily & Austin’s wedding day Hastings Lake Gardens! This was such an emotionally-charged, fun filled day.
We popped into the absolutely stunning Dolly’s cocktail bar in downtown Edmonton. I was jazzed to shoot in this colourful aesthetic.
Afterwards, Emily and Austin also had a money dance at their wedding reception, one of my favourite reception “games”. This tradition involves friends and family members pinning or taping money to the clothes of the bride and groom. Sometimes, crowns and sashes are even made out of bills to give them. Practically, it’s a little cash to start the couple off or to go towards the honeymoon fund; It’s also meant to wish the couple prosperity. And it can get a bit rowdy! It’s always great to photograph as it gets everyone up on the dance floor with the couple. I get right into the action when I can.

Let’s go back now! Emily & Austin’s engagement session was incredible and featured Rizzo, the Italian Greyhound and SUSHI! We headed into the woods with the couple’s sweet pup and he was stealing the show. To finish off the session, we headed to an Edmonton icon where the couple often has date nights: Maki Maki. We enjoyed some sushi and some laughs!
