Brittany and Daniel got married in a very intimate Alberta legislature grounds elopement. I can’t say enough about this fun, gorgeous couple. Originally, they planned a wedding in Ontario. Plans changed so they decided to “make it legal” by eloping here in town. They told me they wanted to reclaim 2020 and enter the new year as spouses. I just love that!!
It was a gorgeous Sunday afternoon in July. After a short and sweet ceremony, with two close friends as witnesses, at the Legislature building, I met up with them for some natural portraits to capture the memory of this unique day. Although we met holding umbrellas as a flash storm raged down these two had smiles ear to ear and kept them for the rest of the afternoon. Finally, the sun came out just as we started our session!

More on the flash storm story: when I first arrived at the grounds to meet Brittany and Daniel I initially couldn’t find them. We got our front and backs of the building mixed up. Suddenly, the calm sky turned dark and a huge rainstorm seemed to come out of nowhere. I ran back to my car to grab an umbrella for myself and them. On the way back to the grounds, I passed a sweet couple huddled together under an umbrella happy as can be. The joyful couple turned out to be Brittany and Daniel (we hadn’t met before so I wasn’t sure at first). When we connected at the steps a few minutes later they were completely unbothered by the rain, glowing from having just said their vows and excited to start photos. I think that says so much about who they are!
